Editorial Process

The editorial process begins with identification of a clinically relevant, drug-related question from either a member of the editorial board or our readership. The newsletters and this website do not knowingly accept false or misleading information, and we do not promote ineffective or dangerous products. Once an appropriate question has been identified, at least 1 member of the editorial board or expert consultants is given the assignment to draft the answer. The answers provided are based on a comprehensive literature search of the current primary literature and appropriate use of reliable drug information resources. The draft newsletter then undergoes peer-review with representation by at least two different healthcare providers and at least one student enrolled in a professional program. In addition, a licensed practicing lawyer reviews every newsletter to ensure quality medical/legal information is provided or if any precedent has been established. The Editor-in-Chief then receives the peer-reviewers' comments and collaborates with the authors for appropriate incorporation of comments and final review.
